For photographers

Stop spending your evenings on cutouts

Masking is the least interesting part of the job and the part clients notice least. Hand it to a model that handles hair properly, keep the full-resolution file, and get your evening back.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export your selects

Full-size JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB each.

  2. 2

    Batch them

Bulk mode processes the set and returns it together.

  3. 3

    Finish in your editor

Bring the transparent PNGs back into Photoshop or Affinity for the last 5%.

Where automatic cutouts genuinely save time

  • School, team and staff portraits — high volume, consistent lighting, uniform output required.
  • Packshots and product work where the background is going to white anyway.
  • Event headshots delivered same-day, where the turnaround matters more than the last 2% of edge quality.
  • Real estate agent portraits across a whole brokerage.
  • Compositing prep — get the mask roughly right automatically, refine only where it matters.

Where you still want to do it by hand

Automatic segmentation is not a replacement for a careful manual mask in every case, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. Hero images that will be printed large, shots where hair crosses a busy background, semi-transparent fabrics like veils and chiffon, and anything where a client will pixel-peep are all still faster to do properly than to fix.

The realistic workflow is triage: run the whole shoot automatically, review at full size, and hand-finish the handful that need it. That is usually five images out of a hundred rather than all hundred.

Quality notes that matter to a photographer

Output is at the resolution you uploaded, with no watermark on any tier including the free one. Cutouts are PNG with a full alpha channel, so partial transparency along hair survives into whatever you composite onto.

Because the edge is matted rather than traced, you can place a cutout on a dark background without the pale fringe that gives away a cheap mask. The failure mode to watch for is a light subject shot against a light background, which is the same case that is hard to mask by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a resolution limit?
Uploads are capped at 10 MB per image. Results come back at the resolution you sent, unwatermarked, on every tier.
Can I run a whole shoot through at once?
Bulk mode takes up to 10 images per batch and returns them together. Run as many batches as you need.
Do you keep or use my clients' images?
Results are retained for 30 days so you can retrieve them, then deleted automatically. They are not sold or used for advertising.
Does it handle hair better than a one-click tool in an editor?
That is the specific case the model was chosen for — the edge gets partial transparency rather than a hard cut. The honest test is your own hardest image on the free tier before you spend anything.
